Hi! I’m Phil. I’m well into my 40s, am married with 5 boys, 19 years to 6 years and live in Rochester, Medway, Kent, UK.

I’ve always been interested in taking things apart and repairing them, whether it be a car engine, gearbox, washing machine or computer. I guess that’s just the way my brain is wired (excuse the pun!)
All my working life I have repaired tech. I had a 2-week stint working in a transport office and quickly learned that an office job wasn’t for me. I’ve worked only for one company in the late 90s to early 2000s, repairing PCs, Macs, server hardware, printers, laptops and photocopiers. I was based in Kent but worked in the field, travelling all over the UK.
Eventually, I took the leap and began working for myself, starting at home and quickly outgrowing the back bedroom, needing more space and eventually moving into local offices. This was my first limited company formed and I had a few employees. These were great times. We were one of only a handful of companies that started repairing handheld PDAs as used by such companies as Zara, RAC & Swale Heating. We worked closely with some large corporations which saw the company grow exponentially.
When the Apple iPhone was first released in 2007, we quickly bought several handsets and began understanding the electronics. We quickly offered repair services, making us the top result in Google for Apple iPhone Repairs in the UK, beating even Apple themselves to Google’s organic search results! Oh yeah, I also dabble with website building and SEO optimisation!

So, here I am still on the bench many years later fixing all kinds of tech but mostly focusing on Apple hardware. You’ll find me hidden away in my office/workshop located in Chatham Historic Dockyard during the week. Weekends are our own, spending much time with my family. Our youngest sons enjoy football and play for local teams so our weekend mornings are pretty much full but we enjoy it!
If you have a tech device that needs looking at, give me a shout. I’m only too happy to try and help. If we can avoid adding electronics to landfills, that’s a win!
TLDR: I’m Phil, 46 years of age and live in Rochester, Kent. I am a jack of all trades and can turn my hand to many things but prefer to work on consumer electronics. I’m self-taught and learn by doing. I’m a methodical thinker and can understand most electronic and engineering principles. I am meticulous in my work and endeavour to find cost-effective solutions while avoiding electronic waste.
